An awesome author uses finger spaces, capital letters and punctuations.  
They also give their story a title, use different sentence beginnings and they use ‘wow’ words and lots of Fast Words.

2014 Term 4 Reading

We are learning to choose a book to read when we are not working with the teacher in our group.

I am learning to work independently on an SRA Power-builder. We need to read a story, answer questions about the text, and work on words that come up in the text. I also learn a about Grammar and the way words are used.
I need to mark this myself off a marking card and graph my results.
I also need to take the responsibility of making sure I choose a book from the group box or from the books in the Library corner to read each night at home.
I am an independent learner.

Students are given the opportunity to experiment with a musical instrument and playing different simple music pieces that could then be built on to create a larger unit incorporating the skills learnt.

Student Voice:
I like to play the recorder because I can play it very well and I can play simple music pieces.
